Aufderstraße, Dr. med. Dirk
Specialist for nuclear medicine
Dr. Aufderstraße heads the Department for Nuclear Medicine. The department focusses on the entire diagnostic area of conventional nuclear medicine in planar and slice image technology as well as on therapeutic procedures such as radiosynorviorthesis which can be carried out on an outpatient basis. For this purpose, a Philips dual-head camera and an AXIS camera of the current generation with variable angle detector setting are used. This allows SPECT slice image examinations of all body regions while reducing exposition to radiation to a necessary minimum.
Range of services
Focal areas of nuclear medical diagnostics
- Heart diagnostics to identify perfusion disorders of the myocardium due to a coronary disease, using heart rate controlled functional analyses by means of GatedSPECT ergometric and pharmacological loads
- Skeletal scintigraphy both in multiple-phase technology and as SPECT examination for all orthopaedic and oncological areas, also in the frame of endoprosthetics (loosening diagnostics)
Inflammation diagnostics with LeukoScan or HIG, or bone marrow scintigraphy with marked granulocytes - Lung perfusion scintigraphies in case of suspected lung artery embolism
- Renal function scintigraphy with clearance determination and assessment of urinary excretion (with or without provocation by furosemide), identification of relevant RAS
- Lymph scintigraphy
- Brain examinations using Ceretec (perfusion / M. Alzheimer) and DATSCAN to identify Parkinson syndromes
- Thyroid diagnostics using sonography and scintigraphy
- Further rare nuclear medical procedures on request
Another focal point of the centre are the therapeutic procedures - and radiosynoviorthesis (=RSO) of the joints and palliative anti-metastasis therapy using samarium or strontium in particular.
