Specialist for orthopaedics, hand and elbow surgery
The Practice for Hand, Elbow and Foot Surgery has existed since the opening of the ATOS Clinic in 1991. The focus is on diagnostics, conservative and surgical treatment of diseases, injuries and injury sequelae at the hand, the elbow and the foot.
Advising and informing the patient about his/her disease and the resulting treatment options take priority since only a well-informed patient will gain the required motivation for achieving an optimum result.
With about a third of the patients coming for consultation, surgical treatment is required. The better part of the interventions is performed without an inpatient stay, i.e. when the operated patients feel comfortable, they may leave the practice. In certain cases, inpatient care is possible.
By employing state-of-the-art devices and treatment methods, complicated and extensive interventions may be performed as well. Using minimally invasive surgery techniques – such as arthroscopic surgery at the wrist, endoscopic carpal tunnel splitting, percutaneous screw fixation of scaphoid fractures – and special implants, rehabilitation time may be significantly reduced in many cases.
At the feet, the joint-preserving intervention takes priority when treating the very common defective positions of the forefoot. Here the current findings for a careful restoration of the foot function are taken into account as well in order to allow quick mobilising of the patient.
Apart from the surgical treatment, conservative therapeutic measures and the targeted introduction and monitoring of post-operative physiotherapy are at the centre of attention.
Constant further education of the physicians and their own education and lecture activities ensure that the high quality of diagnostics and therapy is maintained with diseases of hand, elbow and foot.

Infections, swellings - Fresh injuries to bones, joints, soft tissue, vessels, and nerves
- Percutaneous and open screw fixation of scaphoid fractures, osteosynthesis of radius, metacarpal and digital fractures, ligament injuries at the wrist and the fingers (skier's thumb), injuries to flexor and extensor tendons
