Friedl, Dr. med. Peter G.
General surgeon
Since its foundation in 1991, the joint surgical practice of Dr.med. Friedl and Dr.med. Rappold has covered mainly three focal areas.
- Surgical, minimally invasive treatment of all stages of varicosis (cryostripping, radio wave frequency therapy)
- The entire range of treatments for colo-rectal diseases including endoscopic diagnostics of the upper and lower intestinal tract using total videocoloscopy and video esophagogastroduodenoscopy
- Hernia surgery – inguinal herniae and abdominal herniae (individually adjusted repair procedures for tension-free reconstruction of the abdominal wall integrity)
Range of services
- Diagnostics, Doppler sonography
- Cryostripping, (application of cold probes for stage-adjusted, scar-free removal of the saphenous vein)
- Crossectomy
- Mini-phlebectomy
- Radio wave frequency therapy (endoluminal procedure)
- Sclerotherapy (sclerosing of veins with small lumen)
Coloproctology / colo-rectal diseases
Haemorrhoid treatment:
- Rubber band ligation (Barron)
- U-patch plasty acc. to Fansler Arnold (closed method, ULFA)
- Surgery acc. to Milligan-Morgan (semi-open method)
- HALO (Haemorrhoidal Artery Ligation Operation) with RAR (recto-anal repair)
- Stapler haemorrhoidopexy (surgery acc. to Longo)
Depending on the individual anal topography, we readily combine the above-mentioned procedures, subanodermal haemorrhoidectomy with reconstructive anal lifting acc. to Fansler being the most frequent intervention.
Fistula therapy: depending on the individual functional anatomy, different procedures are used, such as fistulotomy, mucosal advancement flap, plugs, thread drainage, etc.
Fissure repair: surgery acc. to Gabriel, muscle-relaxing salves, expansion, stool regulation, etc.
Inguinal herniae: Shouldice/Lichtenstein repair - first choice therapy is herniotomy and hernioplasty acc. to Shouldice under general anaesthesia with a brief inpatient stay. If repair is not possible in a tension-free manner, surgery acc. to Lichtenstein is indicated (light-weight mesh with bioresorbable and non-bioresorbable portions).
Scar / navel / abdominal herniae: primary closure or mesh insertion in sublay technique, if required.
